Pike's Peak!

Once we arrived at out destination, we basically kicked back and relaxed.  The one regret I have is submerging Turbo into a world of crazy overstimulation.  As you will be able to tell, we got up early and headed to Pike's Peak.  Let's go through the pictures and I'll show you what all we learned!

Yeah, a picture of me!  Ha!  I tend to like to stay on the OTHER side of the camera, but I figured my kids would appreciate a picture of me so they knew I was there too!

Turbo was quite enthralled with all the "big hills" but that went away when we began the ascent UP Pike's Peak!

Diva checking things out too!

Oh yes, it was COLD up there!  The sign just warned you of what was to come, but man, it was really, really cold up there and I LOVE cold!

Halfway...but I thought this was a beautiful view!

At the top of Pike's Peak!  I wish I could tell you it was a wonderful, fabulous, spectacular time up there but I would be totally lying!  The air was so thin that I felt like I was going to pass out the whole time:(  I was able to snap a couple of pictures to prove I was there, but I just could not get down fast enough!

Turbo was not a fan either...I didn't even think about his ear issues!  When we reached the top, he was in shut down mode.  When we got into the van, he fell right to sleep.  That's how he deal with stressful situations...don't we all?  Just go to sleep!

As we cruised our way back down the mountain, they have a check point that tests the heat of your breaks.  Ours were super hot!  So we had to pull over and let them cool down for 15 minutes.  While we were there, Nick bumped into a lady who was a teacher at his local High School in Palm Bay, Florida!  Small world!

Oh yes!  Then we saw the Big Foot!....Wait, that's Nick!!!  LOL

Beautiful Aspen Trees!

Overall, this was quite an experience for our family.  We stopped at a little diner and fed everyone and then headed back home.

Oh, and last but not least, Tori got her picture with a bear....

Albeit, a stuffed bear, but still a bear!
